Family night

Prep.
Aoife, enjoying her plain apple
Father and son
The girls

We at the McQuade house had a wonderful Family night. We had a cook off..Theme.. Pioneer food. Zebadiah and Mabelle made Saskatoon pudding, Sarah and I made chicken pie and Zeb also made biscuits, Desirae made candy apples and Dad was the judge, so was Aoife she seemed to eat it all up.. Aoife had a plain apple(in case you were wondering). We all passed our test for deliciousness, visual appeal and well we don't really know when candy apples started up but we all thought they were a great treat.
It was fun a night, God is so good to give us family.
Kevin and I went out on a date today, we had brunch together (no children) at the League for life Respect life week fund raiser. It was so encouraging. Micheal Coran was a great speeker and wise man of faith. If not for families none of us would be here. We even became members, and bought our children souvenir valentines gifts. They all are recieveing pins that have 10 week (in utero) old feet or hands. Takes you breath away.....

Its now February usually the longest (yet shortest) month for us up here in the north. I've been longing to make changes in my life and I know it starts with me and I know all comes in Gods timing, I'm just longing.....

Well the mid winter cabin fever doesn't look like it has a chance this year.
We've actually been getting to know some of our neighbors, turns out that they like to do 'coffee'.
This Christmas was better than it has been, not as many quarrels.
We are back to schooling only one or two minor setbacks. We had puppies. Eight in total one passed so now we are learning about puppy parenting x 7.
I've been realizing that My fathers death has had a bigger affect on me than I thought. I had to admit it to myself and now I guess is when God can start the healing process with me, Now that I'm able to go there( a bit). Many things have been unraveling in my faith walk thanks to many wonderful sisters and mother in Christ. Time to get a move on and stop stalling growth.
I dream of the day that I can groove with God instead of being so fearful and stubborn. He is so faithful. xo

Here we are its the end of October, I feel that there has been a dark cloud over my head over the past couple of months. This summer was quite dark and not very warm. I'm sure that had something to do with my attitude. My daughter, my mother and I just saw Julie and Julia and now I feel like a celebrity. School has gotten underway and I hope to have an enjoyable year with my beautiful children. My baby is almost a year and yet my oldest is almost 16, that's a bag of mixed emotions. I feel that God has been preparing me for something, I'm working on being more patient, but as we all know its hard. Growing is always going to be challenging and I know God's love endures forever but sometimes I forget. He has proven to be perfect in all of His ways each and every time I cry out to Him. Who could stand to live a life alone without Jesus a Savior for all. Where would I be without Him?

Fall is always so beautiful yet the season that follows is not often welcome.

We are all running around, with preparations to be indoors (most of the time) sort of hibernating. I hope we have a mild winter so we can enjoy being outside as a family. The children love the outdoors and it is hard on them to be inside.

On Monday of this week I was able to experience a calf being born God is so amazing.

This has been an interesting summer. It has felt like spring and fall the whole time. As for provisions God has supplied in abundance. The garden is amazing despite all the rain. The children have started to settle down just in time for our regular routine to return. God has revealed Himself to me once again over the past couple of weeks, He is in control and the more you go against that, the larger the distance you create between you. His grace is sufficient. Over and over and over again. We are looking forward to going to the festival this year. Soak up some music and love.
